THE ROLE:

The Software Engineer builds and maintains a system that automates advertising optimization, generates interactive client reports, and provides the front and back-end infrastructure for our team to effectively manage client campaigns at scale. To be successful, you will build scalable back-end systems that collect large amounts of data through multiple APIs, develop complex queries and algorithms, and post frequent system-generated changes to client accounts. You will also support the build out of front-end interfaces for internal use and management, as well as a client portal with interactive reports.  At Ad Advance, our software is core to our strategy, results, and growth. You will have a large amount of influence and freedom to help shape the direction of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build scalable systems to collect data: Build reliable systems that pull large amounts of data from multiple APIs and can easily incorporate new data feeds and reporting.
  • Leverage data to deliver results: Monitor and optimize database design to efficiently store and process data on AWS.  Develop and tune complex SQL statements to support process automation. 
  • Create tools to empower our team: Develop tools to automate tasks and integrate internal systems to allow our Account Executives to generate better results and have more time to work directly with clients. 
  • Reporting to increase value to clients: Be able to summarize complex data into a clean and simple front-end interface where clients can review performance and generate reports to help manage their business.  
  • Scale a business: Design scalable systems that are easy to maintain, support extensive growth, allow for rapid updates and deployment, and achieve exceptional results for clients as we quickly grow our client base.   

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to write clean, maintainable code
  • Expertise with PHP and Laravel or similar frameworks
  • Expertise with Python and Django or similar frameworks
  • Experience with ReactJS or related frameworks to build front-end user interfaces
  • Experience writing code that interfaces with database layer
  • Ability to generate and optimize complex SQL queries; Experience maintaining/optimizing SQL databases
  • Proficiency using REST API’s to collect and push data to/from multiple sourcesFamiliar with Amazon Web Services and Git workflows
